Don't worry, I'm still alive! :)

UPDATES:
I would like to apologize for not updating this in such a long time. Life has turned out to be busier than I anticipated, which is a good thing - I've been exploring a lot of Cambodia and a few other countries (Malaysia, Thailand and Lao so far, Vietnam to come) while also working full-time. Having the time of my life! I've been keeping track of all of my activities and special anecdotes and will update the blog with them once I return to Canada (in late December).

BOOKS TO READ:
I read two interesting books recently by Cambodian American author Luong Ung:
1. "First they Killed My Father": the author recounts her experiences during the Khmer Rouge genocide in Cambodia. It's a powerful story that I highly recommend (especially if you're planning a trip to Cambodia, it provides interesting information about their history and culture)
2. "Lucky Child": the sequel to "First They Killed My Father", this story flips back and forth between the perspective of the author growing up as a refugee in America and her sister, who was not able to become a refugee, living a traditional life in Cambodia. Very interesting and inspiring to see how Ung adapted and to hear a refugee's perspective.
